Purpose: We sought to determine the efficacy of genetically distinct bacillus Calmette-Guérin strains in preventing disease recurrence in patients with nonmuscle invasive bladder cancer.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a systematic review and network meta-analysis of trials evaluating bacillus Calmette-Guérin strains against all possible comparators (different bacillus Calmette-Guérin strains, chemotherapy and nonbacillus Calmette-Guérin biological therapies) with intravesical chemotherapy as the common comparator. Objective: To evaluate a recently published volume-based renal function prediction calculator intended to be used in small renal mass surgical counseling.
Methods: Retrospective data collection included three-dimensional calculation of renal mass and parenchyma of patients who have undergone extirpative therapy. The predicted glomerular filtration rate (GFR) was calculated using the online calculator.
Background: Resuscitation fluid rates following burn are currently guided by a weight and burn size formulae, then titrated to urine output. Traditionally, 24h resuscitation is reported as volume of resuscitation received without direct consideration for the physiologic response. We propose an input-to-output ratio to describe the course of burn resuscitation and predict eventual outcomes.
