The use of pigs as an experimental animal model is especially relevant in neuroscience research, as the porcine and human central nervous systems (CNS) share many important functional and architectural properties. Consequently, pigs are expected to have an increasingly important role in future research on various neurological diseases. Here, a method to perform an anterior craniectomy through the porcine frontal bone is described.

Methods: All adult patients treated with a lumbar PTED from our first surgery in October 2020 to December 2021 were included. Data was generated by journal audit and telephone interview.

Background: Eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE) is a chronic, immune-mediated disease of the oesophagus. Eosinophilic oesophagitis is associated with a substantial disease burden affecting the quality of life and affecting mental health. There are limited data describing the incidence of psychiatric disorders and the use of psychotropic drugs (PDs) in EoE patients.

Few of the children diagnosed before 2017 were treated to remission suggesting a lack of awareness. While there currently are no guidelines for treating EoE in Denmark, a new English guideline was published in 2022 renewing focus on the disease.

Danish national guidelines recommend that patients with FBO undergo a diagnostic upper endoscopy within two weeks of presentation to exclude possible malignancy, and histological evaluation of eight biopsies (2, 3).
Aims: The aims of this study were to (1) report the incidence and describe the causes and treatment of FBO in the North Denmark Region (NDR), (2) determine the proportion of patients who underwent upper endoscopy and biopsy according to regional and national guidelines, and (3) identify International Classification of Diseases 10th Revision (ICD-10) diagnosis and procedure codes applied to the hospital visits due to FBO in the NDR.
The technical development has caused a reintroduction of endoscopic techniques directed towards degenerative spine disease. A summary of the endoscopic procedure is given in this review. The spinal canal is reached through an inter-laminar or transforaminal access.

The EoE incidence is increasing rapidly as described in this review. In Denmark, EoE among children is significantly underdiagnosed.

Aims: To describe the incidence of EoE in children aged 0-17 in NDR as well as diagnostic delay, clinical manifestations, treatment and complications.
Methods: This retrospective, register-based DanEoE cohort study included 18 children diagnosed with EoE between 2007-2017 in NDR.
