Investigating the Impact of Drone Transport on the Stability of Monoclonal Antibodies for Inter-Hospital Transportation.

In the field of healthcare logistics, the reliance on conventional transport methods such as cars for the delivery of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) is susceptible to challenges posed by traffic and infrastructure, leading to increased and unpredictable transport times. Recognizing the potential role of drones in mitigating these challenges, we aimed to investigate the impact of medical drone transport on the stability of mAbs. Compromised stability could lead to aggregation and immunogenicity, thereby jeopardizing the efficacy and safety of mAbs.

Neonatal pain score after use of paracetamol: Is there a relationship with serum trough concentration at steady state in preterm and term neonates?

Objective: An easy to establish and patient-friendly biomarker to guide dosing of paracetamol in neonates is currently not available. The aim of this study was to determine the potential association between the serum trough concentration and area under the curve (AUC) of paracetamol at steady state and differences in pain scores in preterm and term neonates.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective observational study was performed, using an academic hospital database to identify neonates treated with intravenous or rectal paracetamol for at least 48 hours.

Effect of Prior Antibiotic Use on Culture Results in People with Diabetes and Foot Osteomyelitis.

Background: Antibiotic use prior to biopsy acquisition in people with diabetes and osteomyelitis of the foot (DFO) might influence bacterial yield in cultures or induce bacterial resistance. Obtaining reliable culture results is pivotal to guide antibiotics for conservative treatment of DFO.

Methods: We prospectively analysed cultures of ulcer bed and percutaneous bone biopsies of people with DFO and investigated if antibiotics administered prior to (<2 months up to 7 days) biopsy acquisition led to more negative cultures or increased resistance in virulent bacteria.

Herpes simplex virus (HSV) and cytomegalovirus (CMV) are DNA viruses that are common among humans. Severely immunocompromised patients are at increased risk of developing HSV or CMV disease due to a weakened immune system.
