Background: While treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in refugees is generally effective, many refugees remain symptomatic after treatment. Coping styles could be relevant to PTSD treatment response and as such may be a potential focus of PTSD treatment.
Aims: The study aims to examine 1) if baseline coping styles are related to treatment response after EMDR therapy or stabilization, and 2) if coping styles change during these treatments.

Introduction: Patients with complex forms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) may benefit from schema therapy. While a small number of studies point to the effectiveness of individual schema therapy in refugees with PTSD, no evidence on group schema therapy (GST) in refugees exists. To illustrate and advocate for the use of GST in refugee patients with treatment-resistant PTSD and comorbid personality pathology, a case report is presented.

- By analyzing data from 83 patients at different treatment stages, the research shows that improvements in posttraumatic cognitions predict subsequent decreases in PTSD symptoms, rather than the other way around.
- The findings support the idea that addressing negative cognitions is crucial in PE therapy and suggest using the abbreviated Posttraumatic Cognitions Inventory (PTCI-9) to monitor these cognitive changes over time.
While studies on the consequences of trauma and forced migration on young refugees have focused mainly on their pathology, a focus on resilience in young refugees is needed to adequately represent their response to adversity and to help understand their needs. The aim of this article is to present a proposed study of resilience in young refugees which has been informed by an overview of achievements and challenges in the field of resilience. IN ORDER TO ADVANCE THE FIELD OF RESILIENCE, SEVERAL TOPICS NEED CLARIFICATION: definition and assessment of resilience, the relation of resilience to other constructs and the underlying biological and external factors influencing resilience.
