Aims: To determine the fetal and maternal outcomes in pregnant women with Glucokinase-Maturity onset diabetes of the young (GCK-MODY).
Methods: We studied the obstetric and perinatal outcomes in 99 pregnancies of 34 women with GCK-MODY. The mutation status of the offspring was known in 29 and presumed in 33.
Objective: Women with maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) are often first identified and diagnosed with diabetes during pregnancy. Genetics and hyperglycemia play an important role in determining fetal size in MODY pregnancies. The principal objective of the current study is to determine the outcomes and clinical management of hyperglycemia in pregnancies complicated by glucokinase gene (GCK) and hepatocyte nuclear factor (HNF)-1α MODY mutations.

A secondary aim was to investigate the effect of self-inflicted burn injury. Consecutive admissions (n = 190) to a burns inpatient unit were screened for the existence of a formal pre-burn psychiatric disorder.
