A man in his mid-50s presented with palpitations, chest pain and syncope. After initial workup for a non-ST elevation myocardial infarction, a CT scan revealed metastatic melanoma. The malignancy was infiltrating his right ventricle, resulting in recurrent ventricular tachycardia.

Purpose: To assess the impact of childhood epilepsy on social transitioning outcomes for young people with epilepsy (YPWE) living in Tanzania, and to explore influences on these outcomes.

Methods: At six years from baseline, we followed up 84 YPWE and 79 age- sex- and village- matched controls recruited into a case-control study of childhood epilepsy in rural northern Tanzania. Data were collected from interviews with young people and their carers using a structured questionnaire.

Background: As society diversifies and globalisation quickens, the importance of teaching global health to medical undergraduates increases. For undergraduates, the majority of exposure to 'hands-on' teaching on global health occurs during optional elective periods. This article describes an innovative student-led initiative, 'Disaster Day', which used simulation to teach global health to undergraduates.
