Introduction: Coproduction learning health system models clearly define the use of clinical and patient-reported data for system learning and quality improvement, but less is known about how to document formative learning about coproduction value creation over the course of a quality improvement initiative. The authors aimed to 1) assess the feasibility, utility, and acceptability of novel self-assessment tools for coproduction value creation and 2) identify domains of coproduction value creation.

Methods: The authors conducted 4 focus groups with quality improvement teams from 4 health systems in the United States and Sweden between June 2021 and September 2023.

Introduction: The purpose of this scoping review was to investigate in the literature how a learning health system (LHS) can be implemented in cases of complex, costly, chronic (3C) conditions.

Methods: A scoping review of literature published in English since 2007 was conducted using Medline, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, and Scopus. Two authors screened the resulting articles and two authors extracted study details on the structure, process, and outcome of each LHS.

In the United States, regulatory review of genetically engineered microbes for agriculture falls under the Coordinated Framework for the Regulation of Biotechnology (CFRB). However, the lack of a centralized regulatory pathway and multiple oversight authorities can lead to uncertainty in regulatory review. Using three microbial-based technologies for agriculture as illustrative examples, this commentary identifies the weaknesses and challenges associated with the CFRB by assessing the current system and proposed changes to the system under a multi criteria decision analysis framework.

Objective: Dashboards can support person-centered care by helping people partner with their clinicians to coproduce care based on preferences, shared decision-making, and evidence-based treatments. We engaged caregivers of children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), adults with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and clinicians in a pilot study to assess their experiences and the utility and impact of an electronic previsit questionnaire and point-of-care dashboard to support coproduction of rheumatology care.

Methods: We employed a mixed-methods design to assess users' perceptions of a customized electronic health record rheumatology module at four pediatric rheumatology practices and two adult rheumatology practices.

Community composition and recruitment are important elements of plant-microbe interactions and may provide insights for plant development and resilience. The results of 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing from four rhizocompartments for four wheat cultivars grown under controlled conditions and sampled after flag leaf emergence are provided. Data demonstrate differences in microbial communities according to rhizocompartment.

Pharmaceutical legislation provides a legal framework to ensure the safe and effective use of medicines. Recent advances in genomic technologies enable differential gene expression analysis at a systems level, allowing for improved inference of the network of regulatory interactions between genes. Oxidative DNA damage is postulated to be involved in carcinogenesis, and as a consequence, dietary antioxidants have received much interest. A recent report indicates that vitamin C facilitates the decomposition of hydroperoxides in vitro, generating reactive aldehydes. We present evidence for the in vivo generation of glyoxal, an established product of lipid peroxidation, glucose/ascorbate autoxidation, or free radical attack of deoxyribose, following supplementation of volunteers with 400 mg/d vitamin C.
