The FSH-FSHR pathway has been considered an essential regulator in reproductive development and fertility. But there has been emerging evidence of FSHR expression in extragonadal organs. This poses new questions and long-term debates regarding the physiological role of the FSH-FSHR, and underscores the need for reliable, in vivo analysis of FSHR expression in animal models.

From April 21 to May 31, 2023, a cross-sectional survey was conducted using a stratified random sampling method in five cities (Beijing City, Changchun City, Baicheng City, Shenyang City, Hohhot City) across four provinces in Northern China (Beijing, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia). The study was conducted using an online questionnaire among children and adolescents aged 6-16 years.

The role of bile acids (BAs) in diverse inflammatory diseases is increasingly recognized as crucial, but the underlying role of BA conjugation remains elusive.
Objectives: Our study aim to investigate the potential role of conjugated bile acids in SAP and reveal the molecular mechanisms underlying its regulatory effects.

As an important branch characteristic factor, the quantity of branches could influence crown structure, tree growth, and wood quality. Taking plantation in Dagujia Forest Farm, Qingyuan County, Liao-ning Province as the research object, we developed a mixed effect prediction model of the first-order branches quantity of including sprouting branches based on the negative binomial distribution model, and a mixed effect prediction model of the first-order branches density of including sprouting branches based on the negative exponential model. The results showed that the mixed effect model considering sample level as the random effect effectively decreased the heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation.

Unfortunately, 2D histopathology - the gold standard for pathological understanding of many liver diseases - can misrepresent or leave gaps in our understanding of complex 3D structural features.

Abuse of piperazines will produce stimulating and hallucinogenic effects, accompanied by headache, dizziness, anxiety, insomnia, vomiting, chest pain, tachycardia, hypertension and other adverse reactions, and may even cause cardiovascular diseases and multiple organ failure and lead to death, seriously affecting human physical and mental health and public safety. The abuse of new psychoactive substance piperazines has attracted extensive attention from the international community.

While catechol-containing materials are proven successful in silicon anodes, their application in organic batteries remains unexplored. In this contribution, the synthesis of four polymers are described with nearly identical side chain composition but varying backbone structures.

Methods: The clinical data of 42 patients with CSA from January 2020 to January 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 25 males and 17 females, aged from 30 to 74 years old with an average of (53.
The superconformal index of half-BPS states in N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills with gauge group U(N) admits an expansion in terms of giant gravitons, I_{N}(q)=I_{∞}(q)∑_{m=0}^{∞}q^{mN}I[over ^]_{m}(q), where m is the number of giant gravitons and I_{∞}(q) is the graviton index. The expansion can be viewed as the implementation of trace relations for finite N. We derive this expansion directly in supergravity from the class of half-BPS solutions due to Lin, Lunin, and Maldacena in type IIB supergravity.

This enables nondestructive 3D pathology, which provides key advantages over conventional slide-based histology including comprehensive sampling without tissue sectioning/destruction and visualization of diagnostically important 3D structures. With 3D pathology, clinical specimens are often labeled with small-molecule stains that broadly target nucleic acids and proteins, mimicking conventional hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) dyes.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAquaculture is one of the fastest growing sectors in global food production, recognized as a significant contributor to poverty alleviation, food security, and income generation. However, the frequent occurrence of diseases caused by pathogen infections result in reduced yields and economic losses, posing a substantial constraint to the sustainable development of aquaculture. Here, our study identified that four catechol compounds, quercetin, luteolin, caffeic acid, and chlorogenic acid, exhibited potent antiparasitic effects against Ichthyophthirius multifiliis in both, in vitro and in vivo.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the impact of spleen aminopeptide oral lyophilized powder and fluticasone/salmeterol powder inhaler on pulmonary function and the incidence of adverse reactions in children with cough variant asthma.
Methods: A total of 60 children with cough variant asthma admitted to the Pediatric Department of Cangzhou Central Hospital between July 2019 and June 2020 were enrolled in the study.
Highly selective capture of radiocesium is an urgent need for environmental radioactive contamination remediation and spent fuel disposal. Herein, a strategy is proposed for construction of "inorganic ion-imprinted adsorbents" with ion recognition-separation capabilities, and a metal sulfide CsGaSnS·HO (FJSM-CGTS) with "imprinting effect" on Cs is prepared. We show that the K activation product of FJSM-CGTS, CsKGaSnS·HO (FJMS-KCGTS), can reach adsorption equilibrium for Cs within 5 min, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 246.

Human tissue, which is inherently three-dimensional (3D), is traditionally examined through standard-of-care histopathology as limited two-dimensional (2D) cross-sections that can insufficiently represent the tissue due to sampling bias. To holistically characterize histomorphology, 3D imaging modalities have been developed, but clinical translation is hampered by complex manual evaluation and lack of computational platforms to distill clinical insights from large, high-resolution datasets. We present TriPath, a deep-learning platform for processing tissue volumes and efficiently predicting clinical outcomes based on 3D morphological features.

Fissures in such substrates may alleviate the negative effect of drought on plants, but the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. In a two-way factorial block design, the growth and photosynthesis of 2-year-old Phoebe zhennan seedlings were investigated in two water availabilities (high versus low) and three stimulated fissure habitat groups (soil, soil-filled fissure and non-soil-filled fissure).
