Objective: This report summarizes results from a national survey that aimed to assess the training and technical assistance needs of individuals who work in mental health.

Methods: A survey was distributed to mental health workers by 10 regional centers of a large, nationwide, federally funded training and technical assistance network during January-October 2021.

Results: A total of 2,321 individuals from 58 states and territories responded to the survey.

Chlorpyrifos (CPF) is a widely used organophosphate insecticide that has been linked to detrimental health effects that range from neurological impacts to respiratory disease. The objective of this study was to assess respiratory symptoms associated with CPF exposure throughout the application season. Urine samples were collected from Egyptian adolescent applicators ( = 206) and non-applicators ( = 72) to assess 3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridinol (TCPy), a biomarker for CPF exposure, along with spirometry measures to determine lung ventilatory function.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) pose health risks to children, potentially resulting in stunted growth, obesity, and cognitive deficits, but lack of reliable and noninvasive means to measure PAHs results in poor understanding of exposure patterns and sources in this vulnerable population. In this study, 24 children aged ∼7 years (9 boys and 15 girls) from Montevideo, Uruguay wore silicone wristbands for 8 days to monitor the exposure of 27 PAHs. Wristbands were extracted using a modified ethyl acetate tandem solid phase extraction clean up and then analyzed gas chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry.

Background: Clinical and epidemiological studies employ long-term temperature storage but the effect of temperature on the stability of oxidative stress (OS) markers is unknown. We investigated the effects of storage at -20 °C and -80 °C over 4-9 months on F-isoprostanes (F-IsoP) and 8-hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) levels in urine of children, a population group among whom the measurement of these markers is still limited.

The National Technical Assistance Network for Children's Behavioral Health (TA Network) supports the development and implementation of Systems of Care (SOC) for youth with serious emotional disorders and their families in states, tribes, territories, and communities throughout the United States. The purpose of the current research was to conduct an evaluation of the TA Network to assess: The degree to which it has deployed research-based elements of TA; levels of participant satisfaction; types and scope of TA services provided; and systems-level outcomes. Objective: Wraparound is a common method for coordinating care for children and adolescents with serious emotional disorders (SED), with nearly 100,000 youths served annually in the United States. The current systematic review and meta-analysis estimated effects on youth outcomes (symptoms, functioning, school, juvenile justice, and residential placement) and costs.

Method: A literature search identified 17 peer-reviewed and gray literature studies meeting criteria, which were coded on characteristics of sample, design, implementation, and outcomes.

The National Training and Technical Assistance Center for Child, Youth, and Family Mental Health (NTTAC) supports the development and implementation of systems of care (SOC) for youth with serious emotional disorders (SED) and their families. Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and their hydroxylated metabolites (OH-BDEs) are endocrine disrupting compounds prevalent in human serum and breast milk. Retention of PBDEs and OH-BDEs in humans may be affected by differences in PBDE metabolism due to variants in cytochrome P450 2B6 (CYP2B6). The objectives of this study are to assess the partitioning profiles of PBDEs and OH-BDEs in forty-eight paired human serum and milk samples, and to evaluate the relationship between variants in CYP2B6 genotype and PBDE and OH-BDE accumulation in humans.
