Background: Robotic assistance has become increasingly prevalent in spinal surgery in recent years, emerging as a tool to increase accuracy and precision and lower complication rates and radiation exposure. The 7 and 8 Annual Seattle Science Foundation (SSF) Robotics Courses showcased presentations and demonstrations from some of the field's most experiences leaders on latest topics in robotics and spinal surgery, including cutting-edge preoperative planning technologies, augmented reality (AR) in the operating room, cervical fusion with transpedicular screws, and neuro-oncologic management. One of the primary concerns associated with open fractures is the development of a fracture-related infection (FRI). Background: Effective population size (N) is a pivotal parameter in population genetics as it can provide information on the rate of inbreeding and the contemporary status of genetic diversity in breeding populations. The population with smaller N can lead to faster inbreeding, with little potential for genetic gain making selections ineffective. Introduction: Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) plays a vital role in providing life support for patients with reversible cardiac or respiratory failure. The Arabian horse has been identified as carrying a risk locus for equine metabolic syndrome, predisposing this breed to development of laminitis. Radigraphy of the equine foot is widely considered the main diagnostic imaging technique for evaluation of the laminitic horse. This case report aims to demonstrate the feasibility of performing spinal surgery in patients with a left ventricular assist device (LVAD), who are traditionally considered unsuitable candidates due to the need for anticoagulation and the challenges associated with the prone position.
