To explore the efficacy and safety of toripalimab combined with platinum-based chemoradiotherapy in the treatment of locally advanced cervical cancer. A total of 82 patients diagnosed as locally advanced cervical cancer who received toripalimab combined with platinum-based concurrent chemoradiotherapy at Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital from May 24 2019 to August 31 2022 were enrolled prospectively. After undergoing concurrent chemoradiotherapy, the patient received six cycles of treatment with toripalimab in combination with paclitaxel and platinum-based agents.

Objective:  This study aims to identify hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN) pregnancies using electronic health records (EHRs) from a large integrated health care system.

Study Design:  A retrospective cohort study was performed among pregnant patients receiving obstetrical care at Kaiser Permanente Southern California health care system between January 1, 2008, and June 30, 2022. Using structured (diagnostic/procedural codes, medication, and laboratory records) and unstructured (clinical notes analyzed via natural language processing) data abstracted from EHRs, we extracted HDFN-specific "indicators" (maternal positive antibody test and abnormal antibody titer, maternal/infant HDFN diagnosis and blood transfusion, hydrops fetalis, infant intravenous immunoglobulin [IVIG] treatment, jaundice/phototherapy, and first administrated Rho[D] Immune Globulin) to identify potential HDFN pregnancies.

Background: Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD) is a rare but highly fatal complication occurring after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) or solid organ transplantation (SOT). Unlike SOT, PTLD after allo-HCT usually originates from the donor and is rarely accompanied by a loss of donor chimerism.

Case Summary: We report a case of Epstein-Barr virus positive PTLD manifesting as diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) with significantly decreased T-cell chimerism early after allo-HCT.

The biotechnological production of uridine diphosphate-d-xylose (UDP-d-xylose), the glycosyl donor in enzymatic for d-xylose, is an important precursor for advancing glycoengineering research on biopharmaceuticals such as heparin and glycosaminoglycans. Leveraging a recently discovered UDP-xylose salvage pathway, we have engineered a series of bifunctional chimeric biocatalysts derived from galactokinase/uridyltransferase, facilitating the conversion of d-xylose to UDP-d-xylose. This study elucidates the novel assembly of eight fusion protein constructs, differing in domain orientations and linker peptide lengths, to investigate their functional expression in , resulting in the synthesis of the first bifunctional enzyme that orchestrates a direct transformation from d-xylose to UDP-d-xylose.

A retrospective analysis was conducted on a MonoMAC syndrome case admitted in October 2022 to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine. The patient, a 16-year-old female with a history of persistent monocytopenia and mild anemia for several years, experienced recurrent symptoms of cough, expectoration, and fever, leading to multiple visits to the hospital. Root-associated fungi play a vital role in maintaining nutrient absorption and health of host plants. To compare the responses of root-associated fungal community structures to nitrogen (N) and/or phosphorus (P) additions across differential mycorrhizal types, we collected roots of nine plant species belonging to three mycorrhizal types (arbuscular mycorrhiza, ectomycorrhiza, and ericoid mycorrhiza) under control and N and/or P addition treatments from a subtropical forest, and detected the diversity and community composition of fungi inhabiting roots through the high-throughput sequencing technique. The results showed that root-associated fungal communities of all nine plant species were mainly composed of Basidiomycota and Ascomycota.
