Patient satisfaction for carotid endarterectomy performed under local anaesthesia.

Objectives: To develop, validate and use a procedure specific questionnaire to evaluate patient experience and satisfaction following carotid endarterectomy (CEA) under either general (GA) or local anaesthesia (LA).

Methods: Twenty post-CEA patients were interviewed. Data were content analysed and recurrent themes used to generate the specific carotid endarterectomy experience questionnaire (CEA-EQ).
