Clinical application of autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cells is complicated by limited targeting of cancer types, as well as the time-consuming and costly manufacturing process. We develop CD70-targeted, induced pluripotent stem cell-derived CAR-natural killer (NK) (70CAR-iNK) cells as an approach for universal immune cell therapy. Besides the CD70-targeted CAR molecule, 70CAR-iNK cells are modified with CD70 gene knockout, a high-affinity non-cleavable CD16 (hnCD16), and an interleukin (IL)-15 receptor α/IL-15 fusion protein (IL15RF).

Aims: To develop guidance for the effective use of ultrasonography to improve the safety of HA filler injection procedures.
Proximal gracilis tear is a rare sports-related injury that can easily lead to misdiagnosis and underdiagnosis. Clinical manifestations are dominated by localized pain, tenderness, and dysfunction. Here, we report a therapy of proximal segmental tear of the gracilis and demonstrate its treatment process and clinical outcome.

However, it remains unclear how to restore mitochondrial quantity and quality in tumors, and whether mitochondrial restoration can drive tumor differentiation. Our study shows that restoring mitochondrial function using retinoic acid (RA) to boost mitochondrial biogenesis and a mitochondrial uncoupler to enhance respiration synergistically drives neuroblastoma differentiation and inhibits proliferation.

However, despite extensive efforts over the past decades, producing large quantities of desired ultrathin diamond membranes for widespread use remains challenging. Here we demonstrate that edge-exposed exfoliation using sticky tape is a simple, scalable and reliable method for producing ultrathin and transferable polycrystalline diamond membranes.

Methods: We performed a multicenter, open-label, randomized trial in China, involving patients with symptomatic nonacute subdural hematoma with mass effect. Patients were assigned to undergo burr-hole drainage or receive nonsurgical treatment at the surgeon's discretion, and patients in each group were then randomly assigned, in a 1:1 ratio, to undergo middle meningeal artery embolization with liquid embolic material or to receive usual care.
Two-dimensional (2D) ion crystals may represent a promising path to scale up qubit numbers for ion trap quantum information processing. However, to realize universal quantum computing in this system, individually addressed high-fidelity two-qubit entangling gates still remain challenging due to the inevitable micromotion of ions in a 2D crystal as well as the technical difficulty in 2D addressing. Here we demonstrate two-qubit entangling gates between any ion pairs in a 2D crystal of four ions.

JMT103 (2 mg/kg) was administered subcutaneously every four weeks, with loading doses on days 8 and 15. The primary endpoint was the objective tumor response rate (OTR) based on best response, defined as the proportion of patients who achieved elimination of at least 90% of the giant cells or radiologic complete or partial response per the modified Inverse Choi density/size (mICDS) or modified European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (mEORTC) within 12 weeks.

Plasma membrane rupture is mediated by the effector membrane protein ninjurin-1 (NINJ1), which polymerizes and ruptures the membrane via its hydrophilic face. How NINJ1 is restrained under steady-state conditions to ensure cell survival remains unknown.

Here we introduce the Cytophone, an innovative photoacoustic flow cytometer platform with high-pulse-rate lasers and a focused ultrasound transducer array to noninvasively detect and identify malaria-infected red blood cells (iRBCs) using specific wave shapes, widths, and time delays generated from the absorbance of laser energy by hemozoin, a universal biomarker of malaria infection. In a population of Cameroonian adults with uncomplicated malaria, we assess our device for safety in a cross-sectional cohort (n = 10) and conduct a performance assessment in a longitudinal cohort (n = 20) followed for 30 ± 7 days after clearance of parasitemia.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcinar cell carcinoma (ACC) and pancreatoblastoma (PBL) are rare pancreatic malignancies with acinar differentiation. Proteogenomic profiling of ACC and PBL revealed distinct protein expression patterns compared to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and benign pancreas. ACC and PBL exhibited similarities, with enrichment in proteins related to RNA processing, chromosome organization, and the mitoribosome, while PDACs overexpressed proteins associated with actin-based processes, extracellular matrix, and immune-active stroma.

To address the real-world implications of the FVIII mimetic antibody, emicizumab, and the role of IST, we retrospectively collected de-identified data on 62 patients with AHA who were treated off-label with emicizumab for a median of 10 weeks at 12 US-based hemophilia treatment centers. Most patients (95.

Biallelic CDK12 loss has been documented in various malignancies. Here, we develop a selective CDK12/13 PROTAC degrader, YJ9069, which effectively inhibits proliferation in subsets of prostate cancer cells preferentially over benign immortalized cells.

This study aims to apply a deep learning model to characterize the periocular morphology for preliminary identification.
Methods: This prospective study consecutively included 300 subjects visiting the ophthalmology department in a tertiary referral hospital.
Objectives: To compare the control effectiveness and periretinal defocus between orthokeratology (OK) and highly aspherical lenslets (HAL) in adolescents with myopia.
Methods: In this prospective study, 211 children (211 right eyes) were enrolled in Beijing Ming Vision and Ophthalmology between October 2022 and February 2023. Based on the myopia correction method, participants were divided into three groups: OK, HAL, and single-vision spectacles (SVS).
Precancerous lesions typically precede gastric cancer (GC), but the molecular mechanisms underlying the transition from these lesions to GC remain unclear. Therefore, it is urgent to understand this transition from precancerous lesions to GC, which is crucial for the early diagnosis and treatment of GC. In this study, we merged multiple single-cell RNA sequencing datasets to investigate the molecular changes in distinct cell types associated with the progression of GC.
