The effect of the serine/glycine-free diet (-SG diet) on colorectal cancer (CRC) remains unclear; meanwhile, programmed death-1 (PD-1) inhibitors are less effective for most CRC patients. Here, we demonstrate that the -SG diet inhibits CRC growth and promotes the accumulation of cytotoxic T cells to enhance antitumor immunity. Additionally, we also identified the lactylation of programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) in tumor cells as a mechanism of immune evasion during cytotoxic T cell-mediated antitumor responses, and blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway is able to rejuvenate the function of CD8+ T cells recruited by the -SG diet, indicating the potential of combining the -SG diet with immunotherapy.

Background: Prominent epicanthus could not only diminish the eyes' aesthetics but may be deceptive for its typical appearance of pseudo-esotropia. This study aims to apply a deep learning model to characterize the periocular morphology for preliminary identification.
Methods: This prospective study consecutively included 300 subjects visiting the ophthalmology department in a tertiary referral hospital.
The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern (VOCs) with increased transmissibility and partial resistance to neutralization by antibodies has been observed globally. There is an urgent need for an effective vaccine to combat these variants. Our study demonstrated that the B.

Deep learning (DL) algorithms may assist with this effort. Purpose To develop and validate a DL algorithm for identifying benign small renal masses at contrast-enhanced multiphase CT.

UCHL1 (ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 1), a deubiquitinase, has been shown to reduce AKT1 (AKT serine/threonine kinase 1) degradation, resulting in higher levels. Given that AKT1 is pathological in pulmonary hypertension, we hypothesized that UCHL1 deficiency attenuates PAH development by means of reductions in AKT1.

Ivabradine is a well-known HR-lowering agent, but limited prospective data exist regarding its use in Chinese patients. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of ivabradine in Chinese patients with chronic HF.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on HGSOC patients from three hospitals. K-means algorithm was used to perform clustering on T2-weighted images (T2WI), contrast-enhanced T1-weighted images (CE-T1WI), and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps.
Rationale And Objectives: To identify CT features for distinguishing grade 1 (G1)/grade 2 (G2) from grade 3 (G3) pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs) using different machine learning (ML) methods.
Materials And Methods: A total of 147 patients with 155 lesions confirmed by pathology were retrospectively included. Clinical-demographic and radiological CT features was collected.
Rationale And Objectives: The study was designed to evaluate microvascular invasion (MVI) using three-dimensional (3D) morphological indicators prior to surgery.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included 156 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) at our hospital from 2017 to 2018. Through thin-layer CT scanning and 3D reconstruction, the tumor surface inclination angles can be quantitatively analyzed to determine the surface irregularity rate (SIR), which serves as a comprehensive assessment method for tumor irregularity based on preoperative 3D morphological evaluation.
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), the most deadly solid malignancy, is typically detected late and at an inoperable stage. Early or incidental detection is associated with prolonged survival, but screening asymptomatic individuals for PDAC using a single test remains unfeasible due to the low prevalence and potential harms of false positives. Non-contrast computed tomography (CT), routinely performed for clinical indications, offers the potential for large-scale screening, however, identification of PDAC using non-contrast CT has long been considered impossible.

Background: Anti-β2GP1 (β2-glycoprotein 1) antibodies are the primary pathogenic antibody to promote thrombosis in antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), yet the underlying mechanism remains obscure. We aimed to explore the intracellular pathway that mediated platelet activation.
Methods: Platelets were isolated from patients with APS and subjected to RNA sequencing.
Background: The effects of the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor inhibitor tirofiban in patients with acute ischemic stroke but who have no evidence of complete occlusion of large or medium-sized vessels have not been extensively studied.
Methods: In a multicenter trial in China, we enrolled patients with ischemic stroke without occlusion of large or medium-sized vessels and with a National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score of 5 or more and at least one moderately to severely weak limb. Eligible patients had any of four clinical presentations: ineligible for thrombolysis or thrombectomy and within 24 hours after the patient was last known to be well; progression of stroke symptoms 24 to 96 hours after onset; early neurologic deterioration after thrombolysis; or thrombolysis with no improvement at 4 to 24 hours.
Background: Previous studies have suggested that a single dose of rifampin has protective effects against leprosy in close contacts of patients with the disease. Rifapentine was shown to have greater bactericidal activity against than rifampin in murine models of leprosy, but data regarding its effectiveness in preventing leprosy are lacking.
Methods: We conducted a cluster-randomized, controlled trial to investigate whether single-dose rifapentine is effective in preventing leprosy in household contacts of patients with leprosy.
Background And Objectives: While somatic mutations have been well-studied in cancer, their roles in other complex traits are much less understood. Our goal is to identify somatic variants that may contribute to the formation of saccular cerebral aneurysms.
Methods: We performed whole-exome sequencing on aneurysm tissues and paired peripheral blood.
The rapidly developing spatial omics generated datasets with diverse scales and modalities. However, most existing methods focus on modeling dynamics of single cells while ignore microenvironments (MEs). Here we present SOTIP (Spatial Omics mulTIPle-task analysis), a versatile method incorporating MEs and their interrelationships into a unified graph.

To characterize the very low surface modulus of the novel biomimetic lehfilcon A silicone hydrogel contact lens coated with a layer of a branched polymer brush structure, an improved atomic force microscopy (AFM) nanoindentation method has been applied. This technique allows for precise contact-point determination without the effects of viscous squeeze-out upon approaching the branched polymer.
