The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 pandemic has necessitated enhanced protection against viral transmission among healthcare professionals, particularly relating to handwashing and personal protective equipment. Some of these requirements may persist for years to come. They bring associated concerns around skin hygiene and general care, with damage to the face and hands now a well-documented consequence among healthcare professionals.

Breast cancer is a heterogenous disease with variability in tumor cells and in the surrounding tumor microenvironment (TME). Understanding the molecular diversity in breast cancer is critical for improving prediction of therapeutic response and prognostication. High-plex spatial profiling of tumors enables characterization of heterogeneity in the breast TME, which can holistically illuminate the biology of tumor growth, dissemination and, ultimately, response to therapy.

Introduction: Alike becoming a pilot requires competences, acquisition of technical skills is essential to become a surgeon. Halsted's theory on surgical education "See one, do one, and teach one" is not currently compatible with the reality of socio-economic constraints of the operating room, the patient's safety demand and the reduction of residents' work hours.

Materiel And Methods: In all countries, this brings mandatory to simulation education for surgery resident's training.

Purpose: In primary and continuing medical education, simulation is becoming a mandatory technique. In surgery, simulation spreading is slowed down by the distance which exists between the devices currently available on the market and the reality, in particular anatomical, of an operating room. We propose a new model for surgical simulation with the use of cadavers in a circulation model mimicking pulse and artificial respiration available for both open and laparoscopic surgery.

Purpose: There are few previous reports on maximal pelvic lymph node sizes and no data on normal mesorectal nodes. Therefore, the aim of the study was to estimate the normal size of pelvic lymph nodes and to determine the upper limits of the normal range.

Materials And Methods: Pelvic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations were prospectively carried out using a Intera 1.

The aim of this review of the literature was to present and discuss the anatomical and embryological basis of congenital abnormalities of the gallbladder, based on a case of volvulus. In the rare cases of ectopic gallbladder, diagnosis of a biliary disease could be difficult. In such cases surgery can also be dangerous, especially when it is associated with abnormalities of the intra-hepatic biliary and vascular tree.

Purpose: This study compares open Hartmann's procedure reversal (OHPR) and laparoscopic Hartmann's procedure reversal (LHPR) in patients first treated for peritonitis (Henchey III or IV).

Methods: Fourteen patients who underwent LHPR during a 2-year period were compared with 20 patients who had previously undergone an open procedure at the same institution.

Results: Conversion rate was 14.

Purpose: The totally extraperitoneal laparoscopic approach for the treatment of inguinal hernia is a well-recognized technique with proven efficacy, low failure rate, and reduced post-operative pain. This laparoscopic technique is reputed to be a more difficult procedure to learn and practice than a laparoscopic trans-abdomino-pre-peritoneal procedure: we hope this is because many surgeons don't well know extra-peritoneal anatomy of groin. So we proposed a "step by step" anatomical analysis, with pitfalls to avoid, of a totally extraperitoneal laparoscopic approach for treatment of inguinal hernia.

Abdomen can be compared in broad outline with an irregular cylinder, limited at the top by the diaphragm and below by the pond. The walls of this cylinder are musculo-aponevrotic and present "zones of weakness" seats of the hernias of the abdominal wall. We propose a topographic anatomical approach of abdominal hernias.

The authors describe a technique of totally preperitoneal videoscopic inguinal hernia repair. This method allows, by cleavages, to obtain a preperitoneal space where can be individualised anatomical structures of the inguinofemoral area: pubis, pectineal ligament of Cooper, epigastric vessels. After squelettisation of the elements of the cord by release of the hernial bag, installation of a not fixed prosthesis largely covers the hernial rings.
