Background: The role of atrioventricular optimization (AVO) to improve cardiac resynchronization therapy outcomes remains controversial. Previous post hoc analyses of a multicenter trial showed that measures of electrical dyssynchrony (right ventricular-left ventricular [LV] or LV electrical delay durations) are associated with patients who benefit from AVO.

Remote monitoring (RM) of cardiac implantable electrical devices (CIEDs) is currently proposed as a standard of care for CIEDs follow-up, as recommended by major cardiology societies worldwide. By detecting a series of relevant device and patient-related parameters, RM is a valuable option for early detection of CIEDs' technical issues, as well as changes in parameters related to cardio-respiratory functions. Moreover, RM may allow longer spacing between in-office follow-ups and better organization of in-hospital resources.

There is an increasing pressure on demonstrating the value of medical interventions and medical technologies resulting in the proposal of new approaches for implementation in the daily practice of innovative treatments that might carry a substantial cost. While originally mainly adopted by pharmaceutical companies, in recent years medical technology companies have initiated novel value-based arrangements for using medical devices, in the form of 'outcomes-based contracts', 'performance-based contracts', or 'risk-sharing agreements'. Background: No randomized study powered to compare balloon expandable (BE) with self expanding (SE) transcatheter heart valves (THVs) on individual end points after transcatheter aortic valve replacement has been conducted to date.

Methods: From January 2013 to December 2015, the FRANCE-TAVI nationwide registry (Registry of Aortic Valve Bioprostheses Established by Catheter) included 12 141 patients undergoing BE-THV (Edwards, n=8038) or SE-THV (Medtronic, n=4103) for treatment of native aortic stenosis. Long term mortality status was available in all patients (median 20 months; interquartile range, 14 to 30).

Background and Purpose- We aimed to define the neuroimaging determinants of poststroke cognitive performance and their relative contributions among a spectrum of magnetic resonance imaging markers, including lesion burden and strategic locations. Methods- We prospectively included patients with stroke from the GRECogVASC study (Groupe de Réflexion pour l'Évaluation Cognitive Vasculaire) who underwent 3-T magnetic resonance imaging and a comprehensive standardized battery of neuropsychological tests 6 months after the index event. An optimized global cognitive score and neuroimaging markers, including stroke characteristics, cerebral atrophy markers, and small vessel diseases markers, were assessed.
