Background And Purpose: Early identification of malignant cerebral edema (MCE) in patients with acute ischemic stroke is crucial for timely interventions. We aimed to identify regions critically associated with MCE using the Alberta Stroke Program Early Computed Tomography Score (ASPECTS) to evaluate the association between location-specific-net water uptake (NWU) and MCE.
Materials And Methods: This multicentre, retrospective cohort study included patients with acute ischemic stroke following large anterior circulation occlusion.

Background: Pulsed field ablation (PFA) has gained attention in cardiac electrophysiology, but data on its application to paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia are limited. This study aimed to assess the feasibility and safety of PFA and its combination with radiofrequency ablation for treating paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia.
Methods: A prospective, multicenter, single-arm study was conducted across 8 centers in China.
Accurate prediction of RNA three-dimensional (3D) structures remains an unsolved challenge. Determining RNA 3D structures is crucial for understanding their functions and informing RNA-targeting drug development and synthetic biology design. The structural flexibility of RNA, which leads to the scarcity of experimentally determined data, complicates computational prediction efforts.

We describe a class of aptamer-based RNA switches or aptaswitches that recognize target nucleic acid molecules and initiate folding of a reporter aptamer. Aptaswitches can detect virtually any sequence and provide an intense fluorescent readout without intervening enzymes, generating signals in as little as 5 minutes and enabling detection by eye with minimal equipment.

For instance, patients with HCC and a high expression of the glypican-3 () gene have a poor prognosis, and noninvasive assessment of expression before surgery is helpful for clinical decision-making. Therefore, our primary aim in this study was to develop and validate multisequence magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) radiomics nomograms for predicting the expression of in individuals diagnosed with HCC.

Here, we report patient-derived tumor-like cell clusters (PTCs) for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), capable of conducting 100-5,000 drug tests within 10 days.

Sequential imaging methods based on iterative labeling and imaging enable practical higher multiplexing, but generally require a complex fluidic setup with several rounds of slow buffer exchange (tens of minutes to an hour for each exchange step). We report the thermal-plex method, which removes complex and slow buffer exchange steps and provides fluidic-free, rapid sequential imaging.

Resolvin E1 (RvE1), as one of the specialized proresolving lipid mediators, promotes inflammation resolution by binding with a G protein-coupled receptor, ChemR23 (chemerin receptor 23). However, whether RvE1/ChemR23 regulates hypertension and vascular remodeling is unknown.

Infection can induce the formation of long intercellular extensions that project from infected cells and form stable non-continuous membrane bridges with neighbouring cells. The mechanistic role of these intercellular extensions in CHIKV infection was unclear.

Subcellular targeted cancer therapy may thwart the resistance to produce a substantial effect.
Methods: We tested whether the resistance can be circumvented by subcellular targeted cancer therapy with DZ-CIS, which is a chemical conjugate of the tumor-cell specific heptamethine carbocyanine dye (HMCD) with cisplatin (CIS), a chemotherapeutic drug with limited use in ccRCC treatment because of frequent renal toxicity.
Vicinal diamines are privileged scaffolds in medicine, agrochemicals, catalysis, and other fields. While significant advancements have been made in diamination of olefins, diamination of allenes is only sporadically explored. Furthermore, direct incorporation of acyclic and cyclic alkyl amines onto unsaturated π systems is highly desirable and important, but problematic for many previously reported amination reactions including the diamination of olefins.

Here, we update 96-week comparison results.
Methods: Patients with chronic hepatitis B were assigned (2:1) to receive either 25 mg TMF or 300 mg TDF with matching placebo for 96 weeks.
Quinolinic acid (QA) is an index for some diseases, whose detection is of importance. This work presents a samarium metal-organic framework (Sm-MOF) containing 5-sulfoisophthalate ligand (SIP). The fluorescence of Sm-MOF integrates the emission at 339 nm from the SIP ligand and four characteristic G → H ( = 5/2, 7/2, 9/2, and 11/2) transitions at 559, 596, 642, and 701 nm from Sm(III).

Light-Seq combines spatially targeted, rapid photocrosslinking of DNA barcodes onto complementary DNAs in situ with a one-step DNA stitching reaction to create pooled, spatially indexed sequencing libraries. This light-directed barcoding enables in situ selection of multiple cell populations in intact fixed tissue samples for full-transcriptome sequencing based on location, morphology or protein stains, without cellular dissociation.

This study aimed to identify key barriers and facilitators to implementing reduced-sodium salt as a population level intervention. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with key informants from academia, the salt manufacturing industry, and government.

Another popular ROC index is the Youden index (J), which corresponds to the maximum sum of sensitivity and specificity minus one. Since the AUC and J describe different aspects of diagnostic performance, we propose to test if a biomarker beats the pre-specified targeting values of AUC and J simultaneously with H : AUC ≤ AUC or J ≤ J against H : AUC > AUC and J > J .

Recent studies have shown that fibroblasts do not respond homogeneously to heart injury. Because of the limited set of bona fide fibroblast markers, a proper characterization of fibroblast population heterogeneity in response to cardiac damage is lacking.

Objective: There has been little success in translating preclinical studies of mouse hind limb ischemia into benefit for patients with peripheral artery disease. Using systematic strategies, we sought to define the injury and angiogenesis landscapes in mice subjected to hind limb ischemia and ascertain whether published studies to date have used an analysis strategy concordant with these data. Approach and Results: Maps of ischemic injury were generated from 22 different hind limb muscles and 33 muscle territories in 12-week-old C57BL/6 mice, based on loss or centralization of myofiber nuclei.
