Due to their extraordinary mechanical strength and electrical and thermal conductivities, graphene fibers and their derivatives have been widely utilized in various functional applications. In this work, we report the synthesis of a three-dimensional (3D) hollow reduced graphene oxide tube assembly (HrGOTA) using the same wet spinning method as graphene fibers. The HrGOTA has high thermal conductivity and displays the unique capability of encapsulating phase change materials for effective solar-thermal energy conversion.

Cancer immunotherapies have unique toxicities. Establishment of grading scales and standardized grade-based treatment algorithms for toxicity syndromes can improve the safety of these treatments, as observed for cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and immune effector cell associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS) in patients with B cell malignancies treated with chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy. We hypothesized that the tricuspid valve (TV) structure of patients with hypoplastic left heart syndrome with a Fontan circulation and moderate or greater TR differs from those with mild or less TR, and that right ventricle volume is associated with TV structure and dysfunction.

The development of energetic materials with both high energy and high safety has always been the focus of the field of energetic materials. In this paper, a low-current-sensitivity flexible energetic film composed of carbon nanofibers (CNFs)-coated Al/CuO metastable intermolecular composites (MICs) was prepared by a blow-spinning combined with controlled heat treatment technique. The effects of nitrogen (N) fertilizer on endosperm development, starch component, key enzyme activity and grain quality of common buckwheat were investigated in this study. The results showed that N fertilization significantly enhanced the number and area of endosperm cells, and significant increases were also observed in the contents of amylose, amylopectin and total starch. With increasing N level, the activities of key enzyme significantly increased showing the maximum under the N level (180 kg N ha), and then decreased under high N level.

The work output of shape memory polymers during shape shifting is desired for practical application as actuators. Herein, a polyolefin elastomer (POE) and paraffin wax (PW) are co-cross-linked by dynamic boronic ester bonds to enhance the network elasticity and the stress transfer between the two phases, endowing high force storage capacity to the prepared vitrimers. Depending on the phase of PW, one-way force storage is realized by programming at a low temperature (25 °C), owing to which solid PW can promote the locking of POE chains in a low-entropy state, while reversible force storage can be realized by programming at a high temperature (75 °C), owing to which the relaxation of chains facilitated by liquid PW can promote the construction of a stable structure.

To harvest and reuse low-temperature waste heat, we propose and realize an emergent concept-barocaloric thermal batteries based on the large inverse barocaloric effect of ammonium thiocyanate (NHSCN). Thermal charging is initialized upon pressurization through an order-to-disorder phase transition, and the discharging of 43 J g takes place at depressurization, which is 11 times more than the input mechanical energy. The thermodynamic equilibrium nature of the pressure-restrained heat-carrying phase guarantees stable long-duration storage.
