Purpose To develop a deep learning tool for the automatic segmentation of the spinal cord and intramedullary lesions in spinal cord injury (SCI) on T2-weighted MRI scans. Materials and Methods This retrospective study included MRI data acquired between July 2002 and February 2023. The data consisted of T2-weighted MRI scans acquired using different scanner manufacturers with various image resolutions (isotropic and anisotropic) and orientations (axial and sagittal).

Typically, fibres are read out with silicon photomultipliers (SiPM). Hence, if fibres with a few hundred m diameter are used, either they are grouped together and coupled with a single SiPM, losing spatial resolution, or a very large number of electronic channels is required.

While MEST-C scores are predictive of kidney outcomes in IgA nephropathy, their value in IgA vasculitis nephritis has not been investigated in large multiethnic cohorts.
Methods: Biopsies from 262 children and 99 adults with IgA vasculitis nephritis ( N =361) from 23 centers in North America, Europe, and Asia were independently scored by three pathologists.

Single nucleus RNA-sequencing is critical in deciphering tissue heterogeneity and identifying rare populations. However, current high throughput techniques are not optimized for rare target populations and require tradeoffs in design due to feasibility. We provide a novel snRNA pipeline, Mulipleed pulation election and nrichment snRNA-sequencing (), to enable targeted snRNA-seq experiments and in-depth transcriptomic characterization of rare target populations while retaining individual sample identity.

Lateral decubitus digital subtraction myelography and CT myelography are the diagnostic imaging standards to identify these fistulas. Photon-counting CT myelography has technological advantages that might improve CSF-venous fistula detection, though no large studies have yet assessed its diagnostic performance.

Multijet events at large transverse momentum () are measured at using data recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of . The multiplicity of jets with that are produced in association with a high- dijet system is measured in various ranges of the of the jet with the highest transverse momentum and as a function of the azimuthal angle difference between the two highest jets in the dijet system. The differential production cross sections are measured as a function of the transverse momenta of the four highest jets.

The production of Z bosons associated with jets is measured in collisions at with data recorded with the CMS experiment at the LHC corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.3. The multiplicity of jets with transverse momentum is measured for different regions of the Z boson's , from lower than 10 to higher than 100.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFProduction cross sections of the standard model Higgs boson decaying to a pair of W bosons are measured in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13. The analysis targets Higgs bosons produced via gluon fusion, vector boson fusion, and in association with a W or Z boson. Candidate events are required to have at least two charged leptons and moderate missing transverse momentum, targeting events with at least one leptonically decaying W boson originating from the Higgs boson.

The observable, derived from angular measurements of the leptons and highly correlated with , is used to probe the low- region in a complementary way. Dilepton masses up to 1 are investigated.

However, no studies have reported the pooled proportions of patellar fractures and donor tendon ruptures across the body of literature.
Purpose: To estimate the proportion of patellar fractures, patellar tendon ruptures, and QT ruptures associated with BTB or QT autograft harvest during ACLR using published data.

New sets of parameter tunes for two of the colour reconnection models, quantum chromodynamics-inspired and gluon-move, implemented in the pythia 8 event generator, are obtained based on the default CMS pythia 8 underlying-event tune, CP5. Measurements sensitive to the underlying event performed by the CMS experiment at centre-of-mass energies and 13, and by the CDF experiment at 1.96 are used to constrain the parameters of colour reconnection models and multiple-parton interactions simultaneously.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA measurement of the jet mass distribution in hadronic decays of Lorentz-boosted top quarks is presented. The measurement is performed in the lepton + jets channel of top quark pair production () events, where the lepton is an electron or muon. The products of the hadronic top quark decay are reconstructed using a single large-radius jet with transverse momentum greater than 400.

A search is reported for pairs of light Higgs bosons () produced in supersymmetric cascade decays in final states with small missing transverse momentum. A data set of LHC collisions collected with the CMS detector at and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 is used. The search targets events where both bosons decay into pairs that are reconstructed as large-radius jets using substructure techniques.

However, invasive bone marrow (BM) biopsies cannot be performed frequently and multifocally to assess the spatially heterogenous tumor tissue. Therefore, the goal of this study was to establish an automated framework to predict local BM biopsy results from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Methods: A consensus group of 20 voting members nominated by 10 professional societies, and a non-voting chair, used a Delphi approach and modified GRADE criteria.
Results: Consensus was reached on priority outcomes (n = 66), measures (n = 49) and statements (n = 37) across nine domains.
A small proportion of multiple sclerosis (MS) patients develop new disease activity soon after starting anti-CD20 therapy. This activity does not recur with further dosing, possibly reflecting deeper depletion of CD20-expressing cells with repeat infusions. We assessed cellular immune profiles and their association with transient disease activity following anti-CD20 initiation as a window into relapsing disease biology.

A clinical prediction rule (CPR) was derived for predicting outdoor walking 1 year after SCI. While promising, this CPR has not been validated, which is necessary to establish its clinical value.

Using discrete choice experiment methods, we quantified patient benefit-risk preferences for hypertension treatments, including pharmaceutical and interventional treatments, like renal denervation.
Methods: Respondents from the United States with physician-confirmed uncontrolled hypertension selected between treatments involving a procedure or pills, using a structured survey.
Background: Haloperidol is frequently used to treat delirium in patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), but evidence of its effect is limited.

Objectives: Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is increasingly important in patients with multiple myeloma (MM). The objective of this study was to train and test an algorithm for automatic pelvic bone marrow analysis from whole-body apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps in patients with MM, which automatically segments pelvic bones and subsequently extracts objective, representative ADC measurements from each bone.
Materials And Methods: In this retrospective multicentric study, 180 MRIs from 54 patients were annotated (semi)manually and used to train an nnU-Net for automatic, individual segmentation of the right hip bone, the left hip bone, and the sacral bone.
Objectives: Despite the extensive number of publications in the field of radiomics, radiomics algorithms barely enter large-scale clinical application. Supposedly, the low external generalizability of radiomics models is one of the main reasons, which hinders the translation from research to clinical application. The objectives of this study were to investigate reproducibility of radiomics features (RFs) in vivo under variation of patient positioning, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequence, and MRI scanners, and to identify a subgroup of RFs that shows acceptable reproducibility across all different acquisition scenarios.
