Purpose: To determine if preoperative infection with COVID-19 increased risk for postoperative venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery.
Methods: PearlDiver Mariner 165 database was queried for patients undergoing knee arthroscopy between 2010 and October 2022. Patients were categorized by history of COVID-19 diagnosis and timing in relation to surgery.
Background And Objectives: While the concept of healthy aging tends to be homogenized, differential characteristics are observed among regions and even within the same country. There are policies aimed at promoting healthy aging; however, it is essential to understand the needs of the population so that these policies can be effective. The objective of this project was to identify gaps between the needs of individuals over 60 years old to achieve healthy aging and the policies implemented in Argentina to support this purpose.

Methods: , and , codes were used to query the PearlDiver Mariner database from January 2010 through January 2022 to identify patients aged 10 to 59 years who had a presenting diagnosis of HD and subsequently underwent (1) HA; (2) PAO; or (3) combined HA and PAO (HA-PAO, defined as PAO on the same day or within 28 days after HA). We analyzed annual rates for each treatment, as well as rates of postoperative emergency visits, readmissions, and 5-year ipsilateral secondary operations (determined via Kaplan-Meier analysis).
Introduction And Importance: In penetrating neck trauma, carotid artery penetrating trauma is considered one of the most complicated injuries to treat. Active bleeding, large hematomas, and rapid occlusion of the airways make the surgical approach to controlling bleeding and repairing the vessel much more complex, constituting an essential clinical challenge to every surgeon.
Case Presentation: We present 4 cases of patients with carotid artery penetrating trauma.
