Background: The human papillomavirus (HPV) test has proven to be efficient in triaging women with abnormal Pap findings in women with low cytological atypia, but there is no data about the accuracy for large loop excision of transformation zone in cases of recurrent atypia.

Objectives: To assess the clinical correlation between results of HPV typing and conization histology in women who had recurrent abnormal Pap test results with no colposcopy findings.

Methods: Our retrospective cohort study included 138 women enrolled in the Maccabi Healthcare Services who had consecutive atypical Pap test results for 2 years in which no abnormal colposcopic findings were detected.

Introduction: We studied the effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) ± trastuzumab on the ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) component in patients with locally advanced breast cancer who achieved pathological complete response (pCR).

Methods: The diagnostic biopsies of 92 consecutive breast cancer patients that were treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) ± trastuzumab were evaluated for the presence of DCIS. Upon completion of NAC, the surgical specimens were evaluated for complete eradication of both the invasive and non-invasive cancer in the breast.

Problem: We analyzed the presence and distribution of components of the secretory immune system (SIS) in human fetal membranes (amnion, yolk sac, chorion) and decidua from the first trimester of pregnancy.

Materials And Methods: Specimens from 17 embryos (4-8 weeks of pregnancy) and nine fetuses (9-12 weeks) were divided into those that had not been exposed to massive foreign antigenic effects (Group I, n = 18) and those that had suffered acute chorioamnionitis (Group II, n = 8).

Results: Positive immunostaining for secretory component (SC), joining (J) chain, IgG, IgA, and macrophages was seen from 4 to 5 weeks of development and then during the whole first trimester of pregnancy in the syncytio- and cytotrophoblasts, the amniotic epithelium, the yolk sac endoderm and decidual cells.
