An unusual clathrate-type meroterpenoid isoatlantinone A (1), two new steroids acrocalysterols E (2) and F (3), together with fifteen known compounds (4-18) were separated from a plant-associated fungus Penicillium fellutanum. Their structures and absolute configurations were established based on spectroscopic data (NMR and HRESIMS), electronic circular dichroism (ECD) and modified Mosher's method. Notably, compound 1 represents an unusual highly oxygenated meroterpenoid derivative with a unique caged bioxatetracyclo-[6.

Multifunctional devices based on van der Waals heterojunctions have drawn significant attention owing to their portable size, low power consumption and various application scenarios. However, high fabrication equipment requirements, complex device structures and limited operating conditions hinder their potential value. Herein, multifunctional UV photodetect-memristors based on GaS/graphene/GaN van der Waals heterojunctions area selective deposition have been proposed for the first time.

Background: Preoperative neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) is considered to be the standard treatment strategy for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC); however, the risk of adverse events and postoperative recurrence remains significant. This study aimed to evaluate the non-inferiority of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (nCT) compared with nCRT in patients with LARC and to assess the possibility of eliminating radiotherapy on the basis of guaranteed efficacy.

Materials And Methods: We searched the PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing the efficacy of nCRT and nCT for LARC.

A coherent optical frequency comb (OFC) with suppressed linewidth is demonstrated based on the spectral broadening of a directly modulated semiconductor microcavity laser with self-injection locking. Due to the high electro-optical response, the directly modulated microcavity laser provides a 10-GHz-spaced seeding OFC with 9 comb teeth in a 10 dB flatness window. Besides, an optical feedback fiber loop with two sub-loops is introduced to reduce the linewidth of the microlaser and suppress the undesired longitudinal modes.

Background: The metabolic score for visceral fat (METS-VF) is a recently identified index for evaluating visceral fat, also referred to as abdominal obesity. The skeletal muscle mass index (SMI) serves as a critical measure for assessing muscle mass and sarcopenia. Both obesity and the reduction of muscle mass can significantly affect human health.
