Comparison of Orthopantomogram and Lateral Cephalogram for Mandibular Measurements.

Aim: The aim of the present study is to clarify the possible application of orthopantomogram (OPG) for evaluating craniofacial specifications such as angular and linear measurements of the mandible by comparing with lateral cephalogram.

Materials And Methods: OPG and lateral cephalogram were taken from 100 patients of age group 16-35 years from Chettinad Dental College and Research Institute. Linear measurements (body length and ramus height) and angular measurement (gonial angle) were assessed both in lateral cephalogram and OPG.

Improvement in electrolyte imbalance in critically ill patient after magnesium supplementation - A case report.

Hypomagnesaemia is common finding in current medical practice mainly in critically ill, post-operative patients and patients admitted to ICU in tertiary cancer cases. Magnesium has been directly implicated in hypokalemia, hypocalcaemia and dysrrthymias. We report a case of 60 year old patient, suffering from rectal carcinoma for a period of one year with confirmed hypokalemia, hypocalcaemia and hyponatremia.

Expression of the endothelin axis in bladder cancer: relationship to clinicopathologic parameters and long-term survival.

Objectives: Endothelin-1 (ET-1) and its receptors ET(A)R and ET(B)R, referred to as the Endothelin-axis, play an emerging role in cancer. We examined the ET-axis immunohistochemically in invasive bladder cancer.

Methods: Tumor specimens from 157 patients after cystectomy were stained immunohistochemically for ET-1, ET(A)R and ET(B)R.
