Tissue-level oscillation is achieved by tissue-intrinsic clocks along with network-dependent signals originating from distal organs and organismal behavior. Yet, it remains unexplored whether maternal circadian rhythms during pregnancy influence fetal rhythms and impact long-term susceptibility to dietary challenges in offspring. Here, we demonstrate that circadian disruption during pregnancy decreased placental and neonatal weight yet retained transcriptional and structural maturation.

Prognostic impact of lymph node dissection in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma: a propensity score analysis.

Purpose: The clinical significance of lymph node dissection (LND) in patients with peripheral type intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) remains unclear. Although LND is usually performed for perihilar type ICC, there is no consensus on whether routine LND should be performed for peripheral type ICC. This study aimed to investigate the prognostic significance of LND in patients who underwent hepatectomy for peripheral type ICC.

Adipose tissue biology and effect of weight loss in women with lipedema.

Lipedema is a lipodystrophic disease that is typically characterized by a marked increase in lower-body subcutaneous adipose tissue that is purported to have increased inflammation and fibrosis, impaired microvascular/lymphatic circulation and to be resistant to reduction by weight loss therapy. However, these outcomes have not been adequately studied. We evaluated body composition, insulin sensitivity, metabolic health and adipose tissue biology in women with obesity and lipedema (Obese-LIP) before and after moderate (~9%) diet-induced weight loss.

Early initiation of icodextrin reduces peritoneal dialysis-associated peritonitis risk: a retrospective cohort study.

Introduction: Peritonitis is a common and serious complication of peritoneal dialysis (PD) that leads to its discontinuation and death. Icodextrin (ICO) improves peritoneal ultrafiltration and its early use reduces mortality. However, its effectiveness in reducing PD-associated infections remains to be elucidated.
