Carbon nanomaterials show outstanding promise as electrocatalysts for hydrogen peroxide (HO) synthesis via the two-electron oxygen reduction reaction. However, carbon-based electrocatalysts that are capable of generating HO at industrial-level current densities (>300 mA cm) with high selectivity and long-term stability remain to be discovered. Herein, few-layer boron nanosheets are in-situ introduced into a porous carbon matrix, creating a metal-free electrocatalyst (B-C) with HO production rates of industrial relevance in neutral or alkaline media.

Background: Variants in the GABRA2 gene, which encodes the α2 subunit of the γ-aminobutyric acid A receptor, have been linked to a rare form of developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (DEE) referred to as DEE78. Only eight patients have been reported globally. This study presents the clinical presentation and genetic analysis of a Chinese family with a child diagnosed with DEE78, due to a novel GABRA2 variant.

3D covalent-organic framework (3D COF) membranes have unique features such as smaller pore sizes and more interconnected networks compared with 2D COF counterparts. However, the complicated and unmanageable fabrication hinders their rapid development. Molecular simulation, which can efficiently explore the structure-performance relationship of membranes, holds great promise in accelerating the development of 3D COF membranes.

Objective: Endometrial cancer (EC) is a common gynecological malignancy, and its metastasis is one of the primary causes of treatment failure. Immunoglobulin superfamily member 1 (IGSF1), a membrane protein, has been associated with the aggressiveness and metastatic capability of various cancers. However, the role and mechanism of this protein in EC remains unclear.

Purpose: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic, progressive lung disease. PANoptosis, a unique inflammatory programmed cell death, it manifests as the simultaneous activation of signaling markers for pyroptosis, apoptosis, and necroptosis. However, research on the role of PANoptosis in the development of IPF is currently limited.
