New US guidelines support shared decision making regarding breastfeeding for mothers living with HIV and their neonates. We surveyed Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society members about implementation of these guidelines. We found heterogeneity in uptake, variability in clinical practice, and concerns about implementation.

Central to this process is PrnB, a heme enzyme that catalyzes the complex transformation of 7-Cl-L-tryptophan. Despite its structural similarity to indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) and tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase (TDO) and its classification within the histidine-ligated heme-dependent aromatic oxygenase (HDAO) superfamily, PrnB has remained relatively unexplored due to challenges in reconstituting its in vitro activity.

Objective: To evaluate whether an investigational handheld ultra-widefield optical coherence tomography (UWF-OCT) device without scleral depression can be used to document high-quality images of the peripheral retina for use in ROP examinations.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This was a prospective, cross-sectional study in the neonatal intensive care unit at a single academic medical center.

Rare diseases affect over three hundred million individuals globally. Investment in research and development remains incommensurate with the challenges rare diseases pose. Further investment in information sharing platforms to promote common and standardized network technologies for rare disease is needed.

HFOs and HCFOs readily decompose in the atmosphere to form fluorinated carbonyls, including CFCHO in yields of up to 100%, which are then photolyzed. A long-standing issue, critical for the transition to safe industrial gases, is whether atmospheric decomposition of CFCHO yields any quantity of CHF (HFC-23), which is one of the most environmentally hazardous greenhouse gases.
