Background/aim: Solar ultraviolet radiation represents the most important environmental risk factor for skin cancer. However, vitamin D synthesis from sun exposure has been reported to exert anti-carcinogenic effects on melanocytes in vitro. For the adoption of reasonable adjustments in mainstream paediatric healthcare clinical competencies needed to be adapted to an existing patient safety education framework.
Methods: Thirteen experts in intellectual disability health and patient safety participated in an eDelphi survey aimed at reaching consensus on core competencies required of the paediatric healthcare workforce.
Background: Coenzyme Q (CoQ), also known as ubiquinone-10, is an important molecule of the mitochondrial respiratory chain that acts as an electron carrier between complexes I, II, and III and additionally functions as an antioxidant. Due to its bioenergetic properties, CoQ is of high interest for therapeutic and cosmetic use. This study aims to characterize the metabolic impact of CoQ on primary human dermal fibroblasts (HDF) using fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) and electron microscopy.

Assessing the prognosis of patients with aggressive non-Hodgkin B cell lymphoma mainly relies on a clinical risk score (IPI). Standard first-line therapies are based on a chemo-immunotherapy with rituximab, which mediates CD16-dependent antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). We phenotypically and functionally analyzed blood samples from 46 patients focusing on CD16+ NK cells, CD16+ T cells and CD16+ monocytes.
