Cytological Findings of Cylindroma: Differential Diagnosis and Literature Review.

A cylindroma is a relatively rare tumor classified as a benign tumor with apocrine and eccrine differentiation, mainly occurring on the scalp. While there are some reports on the cytological findings of cylindromas, there are no reports concerning stamp preparation. Here, we report a case of a 60-year-old female who presented with a tumor on the right scalp.

Background: Although immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are effective cancer drugs, ICI-induced diabetes is a rare but a life-threatening adverse event for patients. The deleterious action of ICI on pancreatic beta-cell function is a concern. However, the influence of ICI on insulin synthesis and secretion in patients with cancer without diabetes remains unknown.

A Case of Ulcerative Colitis with Acute Pericarditis after Dose Escalation of Mesalazine.

Mesalazine-induced pericarditis is rare, and most cases occur at the time of treatment initiation. A 30-year-old man with ulcerative colitis who had experienced remission for 2 years with mesalazine 2,000 mg/day subsequently experienced relapse. Therefore, the mesalazine dose was increased to 4,000 mg.

Five-year analysis of hospital complaints at a Japanese tertiary teaching hospital.

Background: Patient complaint taxonomies strongly support the use of healthcare complaints as a powerful tool to improve the quality and safety of patient care. Hospitals use complaint data at the organizational level to address quality variation across service lines and departments.

Methods: We applied a validated typology method to identify where the complaints occured and gained deeper insights about how they can be more effectively utilized to drive and implement continuous quality and service improvement activities within a tertiary hospital.
