Systemic anti-cancer therapy and anaesthesia: a narrative review.

Introduction: Cancer research has revolutionised the treatment, quality of life and life expectancy of people living with cancer. Systemic anti-cancer treatments have expanded to involve not only cytotoxic drugs, but targeted drugs and immunotherapy. Although highly effective in many patients, these drugs can cause serious and sometimes life-threatening adverse reactions.

: Liver diseases are a global health concern. Many in vitro liver models utilize cryopreserved primary human hepatocytes (PHHs), which commonly undergo post-thaw processing through colloidal silica gradients to remove debris and enrich for a viable PHH population. Post-thaw processing effects on healthy PHHs are partially understood, but the consequences of applying disease-origin PHHs to post-thaw density gradient separation have not been described.

Background: This is a single-centre prospective observational study examining radial access in 62 Prostatic Artery Embolisation (PAE) procedures. Evaluation of left radial artery diameter using high frequency ultrasound before and after administration of sublingual glycerl trinitrate (GTN). Background: Autoimmune disorders have primary manifestations such as joint pain and bowel inflammation but can also have secondary manifestations such as non-infectious uveitis (NIU). A regulatory health authority raised concerns after receiving spontaneous reports for NIU following exposure to Remicade, a biologic therapy with multiple indications for which alternative therapies are available. In assessment of this clinical question, we applied validity diagnostics to support observational data causal inferences.
