Background: Despite advances in medical education and professional opportunities, orthopaedic surgery remains the least gender-diverse medical specialty, with women significantly underrepresented globally. This scoping review aims to synthesize existing literature to provide a comprehensive overview of the barriers and facilitators encountered by females in orthopaedic surgery training and practice.
Methods: A comprehensive search of Medline (OVID), Scopus, Embase, Emcare, and CINAHL was performed from inception to 14 July 2024.
The extensive application of graphene nanosheets (GNSs) has raised concerns over risks to sensitive species in the aquatic environment. Background: The Improving Interpreting for Dementia Assessments (MINDSET) study aimed to upskill interpreters through an online co-designed course in dementia and cognitive assessments.
Methods: A single-blinded randomized controlled digital trial conducted between June 2022 and November 2023. Interpreters were randomized to training or waitlist control conditions with 3- and 6-month follow-up.
Large-scale combination drug screens are generally considered intractable due to the immense number of possible combinations. Existing approaches use ad hoc fixed experimental designs then train machine learning models to impute unobserved combinations. Here we propose BATCHIE, an orthogonal approach that conducts experiments dynamically in batches.
