Cardiac fibroblasts are activated following myocardial infarction (MI) and cardiac fibrosis is a major driver of the growing burden of heart failure. A non-invasive targeting method for activated cardiac fibroblasts would be advantageous because of their importance for imaging and therapy. Targeting was achieved by linking a 7-amino acid peptide (EP9) to a perfluorocarbon-containing nanoemulsion (PFC-NE) for visualization by F-combined with H-MRI.

The currently approved synthetic SSAs have high affinity for SSTR2 (octreotide/lanreotide), or for SSTR2 and SSTR5 (pasireotide). These agents have shown symptoms control and antiproliferative effects in subsets of NET patients and this was associated to the expression of the targeted SSTRs.

Unlike traditional biosensors that struggle with heavily diluted sample matrices, the presented biosensor does not require any instrumentation or trained personnel, making it highly practical. The sensor features an oligonucleotide probe covalently attached to magnetically separable magnetite (FeO) particles.

Prompted by the discovery that two PDAC cell lines of the quasi-mesenchymal subtype (PANC-1, MIA PaCa-2) exhibit neuroendocrine differentiation (NED), we asked whether NED is associated with EMT. Using real-time PCR and immunoblotting, we initially verified endogenous expressions of various NED markers, i.

Summary Background Data: Liver metastases are common in neuroendocrine neoplasms and impair prognosis. A broad therapeutic armamentarium has evolved over recent decades but there remains uncertainty regarding optimal treatment selection and sequencing.
