Organ transplantation is performed worldwide, but policies regarding donor imaging are not uniform. An overview of the policies in different regions is missing. This study aims to investigate the various protocols worldwide on imaging in deceased organ donation.

T1 Substaging of Nonmuscle Invasive Bladder Cancer is Associated with bacillus Calmette-Guérin Failure and Improves Patient Stratification at Diagnosis.

Purpose: Currently, markers are lacking that can identify patients with high risk nonmuscle invasive bladder cancer who will fail bacillus Calmette-Guérin treatment. Therefore, we evaluated the prognostic value of T1 substaging in patients with primary high risk nonmuscle invasive bladder cancer.

Materials And Methods: Patients with primary high risk nonmuscle invasive bladder cancer who received ≥5 bacillus Calmette-Guérin induction instillations were included.

Post mortem tissue donation in the Netherlands: a nationwide approach.

In this article we describe the organization of post mortem tissue donation in the Netherlands, the average number of tissue donors procured during the years 2015-2019 and the main challenges we face to improve this number. Licensed by the Dutch Ministry of Health, the Dutch Transplant Foundation (NTS) plays a central role in the organization of tissue donation. The NTS works closely with the Dutch hospitals, two tissue banks and a procurement organization.

A nationwide evaluation of deceased donor kidney transplantation indicates detrimental consequences of early graft loss.

Early graft loss (EGL) is a feared outcome of kidney transplantation. Consequently, kidneys with an anticipated risk of EGL are declined for transplantation. In the most favorable scenario, with optimal use of available donor kidneys, the donor pool size is balanced by the risk of EGL, with a tradeoff dictated by the consequences of EGL.
