Time-of-flight Lidars based on single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) detector arrays are emerging as a strong candidate technology for long range three-dimensional imaging in challenging environmental conditions. However, reaching this bound requires the existence of an unbiased estimator, which does not necessarily exist for data acquired by realistic SPAD-based Lidar systems. Here, we extend our existing SPAD Lidar modelling framework to include a novel metric, which we term the 'Binomial Separation Criterion', as a means of quantifying whether a depth estimation algorithm will reach the Cramér-Rao bound (CRB).

Purpose: Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a potentially effective, noninvasive tool for language mapping. However, there is a paucity of data in pediatric patients. In this study, we aimed to map language sites in healthy pediatric participants with navigated rTMS.

Northern bobwhite quail (Colinus virginianus) are an important game bird that generates substantial revenue for rural communities and is also an important grassland conservation species. Unfortunately, Northern bobwhite populations have been declining across their range for over 50 years. In the southwest bobwhite range, parasites are suspected to contribute substantially to the decline.

This report presents the case of a 66-year-old man with acute torrential aortic insufficiency after a Ross procedure 20 years earlier, a biologic aortic valve replacement 16 years earlier, and a transcatheter valve-in-valve 4 years earlier. He underwent third-time sternotomy, revealing that the pulmonary autograft was heavily calcified and frozen to the homograft. The previous transcatheter valve-in-valve was explanted.

Introduction: The ability of SARS-CoV-2 to evade antiviral immune signaling in the airway contributes to the severity of COVID-19 disease. Additionally, COVID-19 is influenced by age and has more severe presentations in older individuals. This raises questions about innate immune signaling as a function of lung development and age.
