Small bowel lymphangioma: a multidisciplinary approach to diagnostic uncertainty.

Intra-abdominal lymphangioma, a rare benign lymphatic malformation resulting from an obstruction to lymphatic channels, often has non-specific clinical manifestations. Low incidence rates of this condition, paired with its unusual presentation and ambiguous radiological appearance, commonly lead to diagnostic uncertainty. This pathology can result in significant morbidity and mortality, emphasising the need to achieve early diagnosis and management despite these challenges.

A call for transforming physicians-as-administrators into professional hybrid medical leaders: insights from northern India.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to understand the non-clinical challenges of physicians in northern India and to re-imagine an alternative scenario of hybrid professional medical management and leadership where physicians enact roles as strategic boundary spanners.

Design/methodology/approach: In this qualitative study, 30 in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with men and women physicians and thematically analysed.

Findings: Physicians reported that they were unprepared formally for mainly ad hoc non-clinical responsibilities.

Delays in getting injured patients to hospital in a timely manner can increase avoidable death and disability. Like many low- or middle-income countries (LMICs), Rwanda experiences delays related to lack of efficient prehospital communication and formal guidelines to triage patients for hospital care. This paper describes the protocol to develop, roll out, and evaluate the effectiveness of a Destination Decision Support Algorithm (DDSA) integrated in an electronic communication platform, '912Rwanda'.

Expedited Conveyance of Out-of-Hospital-Cardiac Arrest patients with STEMI and shockable rhythms to Cardiac Arrest Centres - A Feasibility Pilot Study of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society conveyance algorithm.

Background And Aims: Guidelines suggest non-traumatic out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) be conveyed to cardiac arrest centres (CAC). We hypothesised that (a) a pre-hospital conveyance algorithm based on initial presenting rhythm following OHCA is feasible and (b) that would demonstrate survival advantage.

Methods: This observational pilot study included all consecutive patients with OHCA from suspected cardiac aetiology from the county of Essex, United Kingdom from April 2022-April 2023.
