A global sensitivity analysis of a mechanistic model of neoadjuvant chemotherapy for triple negative breast cancer constrained by in vitro and in vivo imaging data.

Unlabelled: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) is a standard-of-care treatment for locally advanced triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) before surgery. The early assessment of TNBC response to NAC would enable an oncologist to adapt the therapeutic plan of a non-responding patient, thereby improving treatment outcomes while preventing unnecessary toxicities. To this end, a promising approach consists of obtaining in silico personalized forecasts of tumor response to NAC via computer simulation of mechanistic models constrained with patient-specific magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data acquired early during NAC.

Large language models in radiology: Fluctuating performance and decreasing discordance over time.

Objective: Since the introduction of large language models (LLMs), near expert level performance in medical specialties such as radiology has been demonstrated. However, there is limited to no comparative information of model performance, accuracy, and reliability over time in these medical specialty domains. This study aims to evaluate and monitor the performance and internal reliability of LLMs in radiology over a three-month period.

Can generative AI improve the readability of patient education materials at a radiology practice?

Aim: This study evaluated the readability of existing patient education materials and explored the potential of generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT-4 and Google Gemini, to simplify these materials to a sixth-grade reading level, in accordance with guidelines.

Materials And Methods: Seven patient education documents were selected from a major radiology group. ChatGPT-4 and Gemini were provided the documents and asked to reformulate to target a sixth-grade reading level.

Background: Metabolic factors have a significant role in the morbidity and mortality associated with chronic liver disease. The pancreas has a central role in metabolism and metabolic risk factors but has been largely ignored in liver transplantation. Small pancreas volume has been demonstrated in pathologic conditions such as type 1 and 2 diabetes.

Diabetes mellitus presents a global health challenge characterized by dysregulated glucose metabolism and insulin resistance. Pancreas dysfunction contributes to the development and progression of diabetes. Cross-sectional imaging modalities have provided new insight into the structural and functional alterations of the pancreas in individuals with diabetes.
