Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension: Pre- and Post-treatment Radiologic Analyses.

We discuss a case of a 19-year-old female who presented with pressure headaches and progressive vision loss. In the emergency department, a series of diagnostic tests were conducted, including CT, MRI, and lumbar puncture with measurement of opening pressure. All these examinations yielded results consistent with the suspected diagnosis of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH).

Exploring Mechanism and Kinetics of 1,4-Dioxane Oxidative Degradation by OH Radical: A Computational Quantum Chemistry Investigation.

This study aims to shed light on the mechanism and kinetics of 1,4-dioxane degradation by hydroxyl radical (OH) across various solvation conditions to evaluate electronic and structural properties at the MP2/aug-cc-pVTZ level. Transition states (TS) structures determined in the gas phase and SMD solvation model reveal similar hydrogen abstraction patterns. In contrast, the explicit solvation model (ES) introduces significant changes, suggesting a kinetic preference for axial pathways.

Dynamic Reconstruction of the Nickel Ions' Behavior in Different Orthodontic Archwires Following Clinical Application in an Intraoral Environment.

: Orthodontic archwires undergo chemical and structural changes in the complex intraoral environment. The present work aims to investigate the safe duration for intraoral use (related to the nickel release hypothesis) of different types of nickel-containing wires. By analyzing how the nickel content (NC) varies over time, we aim to provide practical recommendations for the optimal use of said archwires.

An Unusual Case of Overlapping Immunoglobulin G4-Related Disease and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.

Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are multisystemic autoimmune disorders that can present with renal manifestations. Overlapping cases of these diseases are extremely rare and present both diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. We report the case of a 70-year-old male with a history of autoimmune pancreatitis, who was admitted with fatigue, weight loss, and worsening kidney function.
