Article Synopsis
  • * A study revealed that the MED whitefly is a more efficient vector for transmitting CPMMV compared to MEAM1, with the ability to spread the virus rapidly during brief contact.
  • * Understanding the dynamics of CPMMV transmission and the whitefly species' distribution is critical for developing effective management strategies to protect soybean crops in Brazil, highlighting the need for further research into these ecological shifts.

A simple and minimal extension of the standard cosmological ΛCDM model in which dark matter experiences an additional long-range scalar interaction is demonstrated to alleviate the long-lasting Hubble tension while primordial nucleosynthesis predictions remain unaffected and passing by construction all current local tests of general relativity. The theoretical formulation of this ΛβCDM model and its comparison to astrophysical observations are presented to prove its ability to fit existing data and potentially resolve the tension.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigated how self-perceived constipation severity (CS) affects colonic response to eating in patients with different constipation phenotypes, involving 387 outpatients diagnosed with chronic idiopathic constipation.
  • - Key findings revealed that female patients experienced higher bloating and lower stool quality, while CS levels were correlated with bloating and colonic transit times in both irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) and functional constipation (FC).
  • - Interestingly, while colonic transit response to eating (CTRE) was linked to CS in FC and defecation disorder (DD) patients, it didn't show the same association in IBS-C patients, suggesting differing mechanisms at play.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study aims to evaluate how well surgeons and oncologists follow the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO) guidelines for managing morbidly obese patients (BMI >40) with endometrial cancer, focusing on surgical practices, lymph node staging, and adjuvant therapies.
  • - Over 2,300 patients were analyzed, revealing that only 30% of morbidly obese patients received guideline-conforming surgical management, compared to 44% of obese and 48% of normal/overweight patients; however, morbidly obese patients were more likely to receive the recommended adjuvant therapy.
  • - Surprisingly, while weight status didn't affect overall survival rates, those in the morbidly obese group

Article Synopsis
  • - The study compares survival and morbidity rates between two surgical approaches for advanced epithelial ovarian cancer: primary cytoreductive surgery (pCRS) and interval cytoreductive surgery (iCRS), using a matched cohort from the FRANCOGYN data.
  • - Analyzing 513 patients, the results showed no significant differences in overall survival (OS) or recurrence-free survival (RFS) between the two groups, even though the pCRS group experienced higher postoperative complications.
  • - Conclusions indicate that while there is no difference in survival rates, iCRS is associated with lower postoperative morbidity compared to pCRS, suggesting it may be a preferable surgical option.
