The paper presents a case of right lung carcinoma diagnosed 7 years after tuberculoma excision performed in the same lung. The diagnosis was based on observing the increase of a non suspicious mass. It is unclear whether the cancer developed from metaplasia, or was a primary tumor, mistaken for a tuberculoma.

The occurence of chylothorax is uncommon and usually is caused by trauma or neoplastic process of the mediastinum. Primary lymphatic lesions of the lungs are extremly rare. One of them is lymphangiomatosis --diffuse lesions characterized primarily by an increased number of complex anastomosing lymphatic channels in which dilatation is secondary phenomenon.

Malignant mesothelioma of the pleura is a rare neoplasm with a poor prognosis. The most often symptoms of this disease are dyspnoe and chest wall pain, which is often associated with pleural effusion. We present 35-years old woman with 5 epizodes of pneumothorax during 3 years (4 of right side and 1-bilateral) in whom bilateral pleurodesis was performed.

Posttransplant lymphoproliferative disorders (PTLDs) are a heterogeneous group of lymphoid diseases that occur after solid organ and bone marrow transplantation. Lung-located PTLD has been reported in recipients of the heart, cord blood stem cells, lungs, and bone marrow transplants, but only four cases were reported previously after kidney transplantation. Thoracic location of PTLD must be regarded as an especially dangerous complication.

The authors have shown the modern indications for surgical treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis and the results of such treatment in 217 patients. The main indications were: empyema in 58 patients, pulmonary hemorrhages in 18 cases, aspergillomas in tuberculosis caverns in 42 patients, post-tuberculosis stenoses of the bronchi in 9 cases, inefficient chemotherapy in atypical mycobacteriosis in 16, inefficient 12 months chemotherapy in 42 as judged by sputum positivity, peripheral round lesions judged to be tuberculomas in 32 cases.
