While the cohesin complex is a key player in genome architecture, how it localizes to specific chromatin sites is not understood. Recently, we and others have proposed that direct interactions with transcription factors lead to the localization of the cohesin-loader complex (NIPBL/MAU2) within enhancers. Here, we identify two clusters of LxxLL motifs within the NIPBL sequence that regulate NIPBL dynamics, interactome, and NIPBL-dependent transcriptional programs.

Analysis of human melanoma tumors [data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA)] revealed that 50% or more of the samples expressed no or low amounts of serine/threonine protein kinase STK11 (also known as LKB1) protein. Here, we report that, in a mouse model, concomitant neonatal Braf activation and Lkb1 tumor suppressor ablation in melanocytes led to full melanoma development.

The potential for acute liver injury from paracetamol (ApAP) overdose; nephrotoxicity and gastrointestinal damage from chronic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) use; and opioids' addiction are unresolved challenges. We developed SRP-001, a non-opioid and non-hepatotoxic small molecule that, unlike ApAP, does not produce the hepatotoxic metabolite N-acetyl-p-benzoquinone-imine (NAPQI) and preserves hepatic tight junction integrity at high doses.

In the limiting case of AgPtO, there is just one-electron excess in the chemical formula requiring the presence of Ag atoms with oxidation states below +1, assuming conventional Pt and O ions. Such a situation challenges the understanding of the semiconducting and diamagnetic behavior observed in this oxide.

One crucial step within this chemistry is proton migration between cocrystal coformers to form a salt, usually anticipated by the empirical ΔpK rule. Due to the effective role it plays in modifying intermolecular distances and interactions, pressure adds a new dimension to the ΔpK rule.
