Background: Light-sharing detector designs for positron emission tomography (PET) systems have sparked interest in the scientific community. Particularly, (semi-)monoliths show generally good performance characteristics regarding 2D positioning, energy-, and timing resolution, as well as readout area. This is combined with intrinsic depth-of-interaction (DOI) capability to ensure a homogeneous spatial resolution across the entire field of view (FoV).

Purpose: Minibeam radiation therapy (MBRT) is characterized by the delivery of submillimeter-wide regions of high "peak" and low "valley" doses throughout a tumor. Preclinical studies have long shown the promise of this technique, and we report here the first clinical implementation of MBRT.
Methods And Materials: A clinical orthovoltage unit was commissioned for MBRT patient treatments using 3-, 4-, 5-, 8-, and 10-cm diameter cones.
Tubulointerstitial nephritis (TIN) antigen has been recently identified as a novel basement membrane macromolecule. It consists of a single chain of 58 kDa and exhibits a restricted distribution. The interaction between TIN antigen and laminin or type IV collagen has been studied using solid-phase binding assays and found to be for both macromolecules specific, saturable, and with an affinity in the low micromolar range.
