Objectives: To describe antimicrobial use (AMU) in patients admitted to hospitals in Timor-Leste.
Methods: In 2020 and 2021, we undertook antimicrobial prescribing point prevalence surveys across all six hospitals in Timor-Leste (one national and five municipal) to describe AMU and appropriateness in admitted patients.
Results: In 2020, 291/394 (73.
According to most memory theories, encoding involves continuous communication between the hippocampus and neocortex, but recent work has shown that key moments at the end of an event, called event boundaries, may be especially critical for memory formation. We sought to determine how communication between the hippocampus and neocortical regions during the encoding of naturalistic events related to subsequent retrieval of those events and whether this was particularly important at event boundaries. Participants encoded and recalled two cartoon movies during fMRI scanning.

We evaluated three Cd accumulating species recently recommended for such use in cacao farms where Cd removal is needed to maintain markets: Helianthus annuus (sunflower), Brassica napus (rapeseed), and Chyrsopogon zizanioides (vetiver). Plants were grown in two greenhouse pot experiments with different Cd-spiked growth media: (sand plus perlite) and a natural soil.

Flow cytometric analysis of PBMCs from patients with either or malaria revealed a pronounced population of CD4 T cells co-expressing very high levels of CD4 and CD38 we have termed CD4CD38 T cells.

In this study, we investigated the feasibility of using mine drainage residuals (MDR), waste solids produced in large quantities from coal mine drainage treatment, to reduce WEP in dairy manure. Twenty MDRs from treatment systems in Pennsylvania were collected and analyzed to determine concentrations of pollutants that may limit land application.
