Fatigue is prevalent in immune-mediated inflammatory and neurodegenerative diseases, yet its assessment relies largely on patient-reported outcomes, which capture perception but not fluctuations over time. Wearable sensors, like inertial measurement units (IMUs), offer a way to monitor daily activities and evaluate functional capacity. This study investigates the relationship between sit-to-stand and stand-to-sit transitions and self-reported physical and mental fatigue in participants with Parkinson's, Huntington's, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, primary Sjögren's syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer in the world, with an ongoing rising incidence. Despite secure advancements in CRC treatments, challenges such as side effects and therapy resistance remain to be addressed. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) emerges as a promising modality, clinically used in treating different diseases, including cancer.

Infection of the Jackal () by (Trematoda: Heterophyidae) in Southwestern Iran: A Clue for Potential Human Infection.

Background: We detected eight trematodes in the small intestine of a road-killed jackal () from Hamidiyeh District near the city of Ahvaz, Khuzestan Province in 2010.

Methods: Three worms were stained with carmine acid, mounted in Canada balsam on glass slides and examined under a light microscope at 1000X magnification. PCR and sequencing of a partial ITS2 sequence were used to approve the diagnosis.

Rats are capable to harbor various pathogens, among which certain species of zoonotic parasites are included. A long-term detection of parasite fauna of rats has sporadically been carried out in Iran. Abundance of these vertebrate pests is of great importance as regards public health issue.
