Article Synopsis
  • Mosquito-borne viruses are a global health concern, but rapid diagnostic methods are often lacking for patients.
  • Researchers designed a microfluidic device using a 3D printer that can detect viral RNA and oligonucleotides, specifically targeting the chikungunya virus (CHIKV).
  • The device showed strong performance in capturing CHIKV RNA with high specificity, achieving detection limits comparable to those found in acute clinical samples, indicating potential for future diagnostic applications.
