The growing population of individuals with chronic pain presents a challenge to a globally overburdened health care workforce. Naturopaths are trained as primary health care providers who manage patients with chronic pain and, yet, are often overlooked in health care teams. This scoping review aims to identify barriers and facilitators affecting naturopathic inclusion into interprofessional health care teams managing patients with chronic pain.

A shared journey: evaluating a patient-assessed measure of self-management of chronic conditions in an Australian setting.

Background Patient Assessment of Care in Chronic Conditions (PACIC+), included in some Australian guidelines, has been shown reliable for measuring patient engagement and perception of their care in primary care settings. Various studies have focussed on PACIC+ use in specific conditions. This study aims to expand PACIC+ to measure patient empowerment to self-manage their chronic condition and validate it in the broader Australian primary care population.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing threat to health globally, with the potential to render numerous medical procedures so dangerous as to be impractical. There is therefore an urgent need for new molecules that function through novel mechanisms of action to combat AMR. The bacterial DNA-repair and SOS-response pathways promote survival of pathogens in infection settings and also activate hypermutation and resistance mechanisms, making these pathways attractive targets for new therapeutics.
