Article Synopsis
  • The study explores the mechanical properties of Mn- and Fe-doped NaBiTiO ceramics, measuring factors like Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio, and more, in both unpoled and poled states.
  • Results indicate that adding Mn and Fe ions and applying electric poling improve the ceramics' mechanical and piezoelectric properties, altering their stress-strain responses.
  • These modifications lead to significant ferroelastic deformation and large remnant polarization, suggesting that these doped ceramics could serve as effective alternatives to PZT ceramics in high-stress actuator applications.

Lead-free KBiTiO (KBT) ceramics with high density (~5.36 g/cm, 90% of X-ray density) and compositional purity (up to 90%) were synthesized using a solid-state reaction method. Strongly condensed KBT ceramics revealed homogenous local microstructures.

The purpose of the present study was to learn the morphological, structural, ferroelectric, dielectric, electromechanical, magnetoelectric, and magnetic properties, and DC conductivity of BaTiO-NiZnFeO (BT-F) multiferroic composites compacted via the free sintering method. The influence of the ferrite content in ceramic composite materials on the functional properties is investigated and discussed. X-ray diffraction studies confirmed the presence of two main phases of the composite, with strong reflections originating from BaTiO and weak peaks originating from nickel-zinc ferrite.
