The main objective of this paper is to analyze, through a unique large-scale modeling facility, the RDS wash-off under various scenarios of intense rainfall and high RDS masses. A 1:1 scale physical modeling facility was used to allow precise measurement of the RDS wash-off phenomenon under two different rainfall intensities (30/50 mm/h) and three initial RDS masses (100/150/200 g/m). The accumulated and discharged masses of RDS in the different components of the modeling facility (roadway/RW, gully pot/GP and manhole/MH) were collected at the end of the wash-off simulations.

Objective: To explore a definition for complicated coagulase-negative staphylococci bloodstream infections (CoNS BSI), and to identify predictors for mortality.

Methods: Prospective cohort study conducted from October 2016 to March 2017 in 26 Spanish hospitals. Complicated CoNS BSI criteria included lack of early catheter removal in catheter-related cases, foreign indwelling implant, persistent bacteremia, fever ≥72 hours on active therapy, metastatic infection or deep-seated focus and infective endocarditis.

Background: Approximately 5% to 10% of patients who undergo kidney transplantation develop ureteral stricture, which can be treated endoscopically or by open surgery, which is more effective but complications are common and potentially severe. Robotic surgery has begun to emerge as an alternative in reconstructive procedures. However, few studies have evaluated the role of robotic surgery in this clinical setting.

Broilers commonly experience stressors such as coccidiosis, a parasitic infection that results in intestinal damage, malabsorption, and performance losses. The poultry industry is exploring alternatives to anticoccidials for controlling coccidiosis, especially through the enhancement of gut health. Sodium bisulfate (NaHSO; SBS), an acid salt, has been used for many years as a litter acidifier to reduce aerial ammonia in poultry housing.

Background/objectives: Alzheimer's disease (AD), a leading cause of dementia, lacks effective long-term treatments. Current therapies offer temporary relief or fail to halt its progression and are often inaccessible due to cost. AD involves multiple pathological processes, including amyloid beta (Aβ) deposition, insulin resistance, tau protein hyperphosphorylation, and systemic inflammation accelerated by gut microbiota dysbiosis originating from a leaky gut.
