  • A retrospective analysis of 62 patients showed a high technical success rate of 96.8% and a clinical success rate of 79%, with lower clinical success in patients with PC (66.7% vs. 88.6%).
  • Although there was no significant difference in overall survival between those with or without PC, patients who successfully improved after SEMS placement had notably longer median survival (75 days) compared to those who did not improve (14.5 days).

Skin biopsies from a patient with a dissection of the left internal carotid artery and from four of his children were analyzed by electron microscopy.
