The accurate measurement of spatiotemporal parameters, such as step length and step frequency, is crucial for analyzing running and sprinting performance. Traditional methods like video analysis and force platforms are either time consuming or limited in scope, prompting the need for more efficient technologies. This study evaluates the effectiveness of a commercial Global Positioning System (GPS) unit integrated with an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) in capturing these parameters during sprints at varying velocities.

A series of novel 4-alkylthio-2-chloro-5-[(2-arylmethylidene)hydrazinecarbonyl]benzenesulfonamide derivatives 3-22 were synthesized and evaluated for their inhibitory activity against human carbonic anhydrase isozymes hCA I, hCA II, hCA IX, and hCA XII. These compounds showed varying degrees of activity against the studied isoenzymes. However, the importance of substituent choice in designing potent carbonic anhydrase inhibitors is highlighted by the strong inhibition profiles of compounds 3 and 10 against hCA IX and the low average K values for compounds 9 and 10 (134 nM and 77 nM, respectively).

Chalcones and their derivatives, both natural and synthetic, exhibit diverse biological activities. In this study, we focused on designing and synthesizing ()-2,4-dichloro--(4-cinnamoylphenyl)-5-methylbenzenesulfonamides - with the following two pharmacophore groups: 2,4-dichlorobenzenesulfonamide and chalcone. The obtained compounds displayed notable anticancer effects on various human cancer cells, such as cervical HeLa, acute promyelocytic leukemia HL-60, and gastric adenocarcinoma AGS, when assessed with the MTT test.
