Background: Persistence of humoral immunity was evaluated in 82 hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients up to 12.5 years after post-transplant immunization against tetanus and diphtheria.

Procedure: New immunization, initiated at least 12 months after transplantation, consisted of an average three-dose schedule of vaccine administration on day 1, month 3, and month 12.

An overview is given on the literature on the campaigns against vaccination of children. Such campaigns were organized in the developed countries of the Western Europe and they have occurred recently also in the Czech Republic. From these actions and namely from the consequence of the limited vaccination it is possible to get an important lesson and to use them as arguments for our own vaccination program.

In the submitted review the author describes time correlation's of reconstitution of immunity during the post-transplantation period in patients after autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplantations. The authors presents values of different immunological parameters incl. functional examinations of immunity by the method of blastic lymphocyte transformation after stimulation with mitogens and vaccination antigens during the post-transplantation period.

The authors analyse neurological disorders which developed after immunization with vaccines against measles (Movivac) and after immunization against measles and mumps (Mopavac) in 60 children.
