Article Synopsis
  • This study aimed to assess maternal and perinatal outcomes in cases of fetal intervention complicated by maternal "mirror" syndrome, which involves maternal swelling due to fetal conditions like hydrops.
  • Researchers analyzed medical records from 21 pregnancies with fetal hydrops treated between 1995 and 2022, identifying causes like fetal lung issues and twin-twin transfusion syndrome.
  • The findings showed that post-intervention, maternal symptoms improved significantly in about 38% of cases, indicating the need for closer monitoring of mothers undergoing fetal treatment due to the potential emergence of "mirror" syndrome.
